Web Content Accessibility
The Justice Portfolio website has been constructed to meet the highest level of World Wide Web Consoritum (W3C) Web Content Accessibility Guidelines compliance.
Every page on the site meets at least Priority level 1 and in most cases the site also meets levels 2 and 3 compliance.
For more information on W3C, please visit the website www.w3.org.
Low Bandwidth Users
Users in low bandwidth situations can elect not to download graphics and still receive the complete site information and navigation facilities. Users need to change the browser configuration to facilitate this.
For example, for the Internet Explorer browser version 6.0, the user will need to:
- Select the Tools>Internet Options menu within the browser interface which will launch a popup window
- The user then needs to select the Advanced menu option. When the Advanced menu is selected, it will present a series of checkbox options available for the customisation of the browser's configuration
- To isolate the presentation of graphics, the user will need to uncheck the option: Show Pictures which is found under Multimedia
- Once the box is unchecked the alteration needs to be applied
Cookies/session variables
The Justice Portfolio website does not use cookies or session variables for casual browse visitors.
The only time that a session variable is utilised by the Justice Portfolio website is when a visitor submits a link, which is valid against the charter (set out by State Government of South Australia) and is approved for public display. A session variable is then employed to manage the owner of the links return to the site for the purpose of editing the details stored against the link.
