South Australian Legislation
The South Australian Legislation website (www.legislation.sa.gov.au) provides access to SA legislation and information about SA legislation.
The website:
- Provides a facility to browse and download in PDF and RTF formats -
- Current versions of principal Acts, principal regulations and certain rules and policies under the Aquaculture Act and Environment Protection Act.
- Historical versions of principal Acts, principal regulations and certain rules and policies (from 2004 plus selected earlier historical versions).
- Proclamations and notices made by the Governor (from 2003).
- As made versions of Acts and regulations, rules and policies (from 2003).
- Bills of the current session of Parliament.
- Archived Bills from previous sessions of Parliament (from 2005)
(PDF is provided for general use and especially for printing. RTF is provided for those users who need to download legislation in a form that may be annotated or reused).
- Displays the connections between an Act and its subordinate legislation.
- Provides legislative history and index information at the end of the current and historical versions of principal Acts and subordinate legislation and on the legislation home pages.
- Includes warnings if a legislative event has taken place and it is not yet reflected in the legislation on the website.
- Provides searching facilities - searches may be limited according to the category of legislation, the status of the legislation (current, historical or as made), and the format (The search facility does not show hits in individual legislation items).
Other sites are able to link reliably to particular Acts and regulations etc. Instructions are accessible from the Information Box on the left of the screen.
The site also provides access to Letters Patent, lists of Ministers to whom Acts are committed, incorporated Ministers, administrative units of the Public Service, local council names and regulations expiring under the Subordinate Legislation Act expiry program.
