Emergency Services Volunteers

State Emergency Service (SES) Volunteers

Membership of the State Emergency Services (SES) is open to men and women with a reasonable degree of physical fitness and a passion to do the right thing within their community.

Volunteers who do not wish to participate in rescue activities or are concerned regarding their physical fitness but would still like to assist, can enquire about the other duties that can be undertaken within Unit headquarters.

State Emergency Service (SES) Cadets

Some State Emergency Service (SES) units have Cadets, young men and women aged between 13 and 18.

SES Cadets learn and practise theory and skills relevant to the operation of SES by participating in the Basic Rescue Course.

SA Country Fire Service (CFS)

The community relies on people from all walks of life to give their time to become members of the South Australian Country Fire Service (CFS). Men and women who live within a reasonable distance of their local brigade are very welcome to join.

Regardless of which role(s) you wish to undertake the CFS will provide full training.
