Crime Statistics

Office of Crime Statistics and Research (OCSAR) - Attorney-General's Department South Australia

OCSAR researches and monitors crime trends and the criminal justice system within the State. OCSAR's research is available to download free of charge from its website www.ocsar.sa.gov.au.

The unit also publishes a regular e-newsletter. In addition to its work in South Australia, OCSAR also conducts evaluations and manages the Comprehensive Auto-theft Research System (CARS) Project, which is developing a national database on vehicle thefts. More information about the project can be found on the NCARS website www.ncars.on.net.

Australian Institute of Criminology

Based in Canberra, this Institute conducts research into national crime and criminal justice issues. Many reports and bulletins can be downloaded from the AIC's website www.aic.gov.au.

Australian Bureau of Statistics

The ABS provides a national statistics service that covers a range of Australian issues including crime and justice. Reports can be downloaded free of charge from the ABS website www.abs.gov.au.
