Strategic Disability Statement (endorsed 20 June 2006)
The Justice Portfolio’s vision is for South Australia to be a safe, fair and just place to live, work, visit and conduct business. The South Australian Government is seeking an enhanced quality of life for people with disabilities, through their effective participation and independence in the community, as citizens of South Australia.

Reconciliation Statement
The Justice Portfolio has its own Reconciliation Statement. The Statement was signed on 30 May 2002 by members of the Justice Portfolio Leadership Council in the presence of many significant Aboriginal community leaders.
The Justice Portfolio Reconciliation Statement outlines the Portfolio's public commitment to working towards achieving reconciliation between Aboriginal and non-aboriginal people of Australia. In particular, we intend to:
- build the confidence of Aboriginal communities in justice processes
- enhance the safety of Aboriginal communities
- reduce crime and its social and economic impact on Aboriginal people
- embody the spirit and substance of the Royal Commission into Aboriginal Deaths in Custody.
- promote the unique cultures and diversity of Aboriginal people
- foster a culture that is inclusive of, respectful of and responsive to Indigenous people
- promote access to justice services for Indigenous people in South Australia
- strengthen sustainable partnerships between Aboriginal communities and the Justice Portfolio
- review and report on progress towards reconciliation within the Justice Portfolio
